Castle on a Cloud in French

Castle On A Cloud

There is a castle on a cloud,

I like to go there in my sleep,

Aren’t any floors for me to sweep,

Not in my castle on a cloud.

There is a room that’s full of toys.

There are a hundred boys and girls.

Nobody shouts or talks too loud,

Not in my castle on a cloud.

There is a lady all in white,

Holds me and sings a lullaby,

She’s nice to see and she’s soft to touch,

She says, to me “I love you very much.”

I know a place where no one’s lost,

I know a place where no one cries,

Crying at all is not allowed,

Not in my castle on a cloud.

Reach!

When the world, leaves you feeling blue

You can count on me, I will be there for you

When it seems, all your hopes and dreams

Are a million miles away, I will re-assure you

We’ve got to all stick together

Good friends, there for each other

Never ever forget that

I’ve got you and you’ve got me, so

Reach for the stars

Climb every mountain higher

Reach for the stars

Follow your hearts desire

Reach for the stars

And when that rainbow’s shining over you

That’s when your dreams will all come true

There’s a place waiting just for you

Is a special place where your dreams all come true

Fly away, swim the ocean blue

Drive that open road, leave the past behind you

Don’t stop gotta keep moving

Your hopes have gotta keep building

Never ever forget that

I’ve got you and you’ve got me, so

Reach for the stars

Climb every mountain higher

Reach for the stars

Follow your hearts desire

Reach for the stars

And when that rainbow’s shining over you

That’s when your dreams will all come true

Don’t believe in all that you’ve been told

The sky’s the limit you can reach your goal

No-one knows just what the future holds

There ain’t nothing you can’t be

There’s a whole world at your feet

I said reach

Climb every mountain (reach)

Reach for the moon (reach)

Follow that rainbow

And your dreams will all come true

Reach for the stars

Climb every mountain higher

Reach for the stars

Follow your hearts desire

Reach for the stars

And when that rainbow’s shining over you

That’s when your dreams will all come true

Reach for the stars

Climb every mountain higher

Reach for the stars

Follow your hearts desire

Reach for the stars

And when that rainbow’s shining over you

That’s when your dreams will all come true

Reach for the stars

Climb every mountain higher [fade to finish]

Hi all,

Attached are the two rounds that we rehearsed on Wednesday afternoon-for those of you who attended.

Thank you SO much to those of you who came along to the Session 5 rehearsal during CLANS yesterday. Unfortunately as there were so many students missing from the rehearsal, it will just be a small group of singers performing on Friday afternoon, unless you can have a REALLY good listen tonight and perfect it for tomorrow!

I intend to be in at about 1.15, so during lunchtime, and if I get the chance I’ll call you in and run through the songs once again!

Here is I like the Daffodils

Here is Kookaburra Sits in the Old Gum Tree

Hello Junior Choir

Hello Junior Choir!

I have been having such a fun time working with you and getting to know you over the past few weeks, what a lovely group of students we have! You are sounding absolutely wonderful with our new song ‘Tomorrow’, and your new song “Rockin’ Robin” is coming along really well, too!!

Attached are two backing tracks for you to practice with.

We will performing at assembly On Wednesday 24th August! we hope to see you there!

Enjoy the rest of your week,

Mrs McKenzie

Here’s the Backing Track for ‘Rockin’ Robin!’

And the lyrics-

He rocks in the tree tops all day long
Hoppin’ and a-boppin’ and singing his song
All the little birdies on Jaybird Street
Love to hear the robin go tweet tweet tweet

Rockin’ robin, rock rock
Rockin’ robin’
Blow rockin’ robin
‘Cause we’re really gonna rock tonight

Every little swallow, every chick-a-dee
Every little bird in the tall oak tree
The wise old owl, the big black crow
Flappin’ their wings singing go bird go

Rockin’ robin, rock rock
Rockin’ robin’
Blow rockin’ robin
‘Cause we’re really gonna rock tonight

Pretty little raven at the bird-band stand
Told them how to do the bop and it was grand
They started going steady and bless my soul
He out-bopped the buzzard and the oriol

He rocks in the tree tops all day long
Hoppin’ and a-boppin’ and singing his song
All the little birdies on Jaybird Street
Love to hear the robin go tweet tweet tweet

Rockin’ robin, rock rock
Rockin’ robin’
Blow rockin’ robin
‘Cause we’re really gonna rock tonight

Here’s the backing track for ‘Tomorrow’

And the lyrics-

The sun’ll come out tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow
There’ll be sun!

Just thinkin’ about tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs and the sorrow
’til there’s none!

When I’m stuck with a day that’s grey and lonely
I just stick out my chin, and grin, and say
Oh!

The sun’ll come out tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on ’til tomorrow
Come what may
Tomorrow! Tomorrow!
I love ya Tomorrow!
You’re always a day away!

When I’m stuck with a day,
That’s grey and lonely
I just stick out my chin
And grin and say
Oh!

The sun’ll come out tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on ’til tomorrow
Come what may
Tomorrow! Tomorrow!
I love ya Tomorrow!
You’re always a day away!

Tomorrow! Tomorrow!
I love ya Tomorrow!
You’re always a day away!

Alice in Wonderland Songs!

Hello everybody!

Attached are our songs for the Alice In Wonderland exhibition on the 14th June.

Middle Choir- All in the Golden Afternoon

Senior Choir-All in the Golden Afternoon and In a World of my Own.

I have included lyrics and recordings of the songs, but no backing tracks as I am still sourcing ones in the correct key! They’re coming, though, I promise!

Enjoy, practice lots, and I’ll see you next week!!

Mrs McKenzie

All In The Golden Afternoon

Little bread-and-butterflies kiss the tulips,

And the sun is like a toy balloon.

There are get up in the morning glories,

In the golden afternoon.

There are dizzy daffodils on the hillside,

Strings of violets are all in tune

Tiger lilies love the dandy lions,

In the golden afternoon.

There are dog and caterpillars and a copper centipede,

Where the lazy daisies love the very peaceful life they lead

You can learn a lot of things from the flowers,

For especially in the month of June.

There’s a wealth of happiness and romance,

I n the golden afternoon.

You can learn a lot of things from the flowers,

For especially in the month of June.

There’s a wealth of happiness and romance,

All in the golden afternoon.

In a World of My Own

Cats and rabbits

Would reside in fancy little houses

And be dressed in shoes and hats and trousers

In a world of my own

All the flowers

Would have very extra special powers

They would sit and talk to me for hours

When I’m lonely in a world of my own

There’d be new birds

Lots of nice and friendly howdy-do birds

Everyone would have a dozen bluebirds

Within that world of my own

I could listen to a babbling brook

And hear a song that I could understand

I keep wishing it could be that way

Because my world would be a Wonderland

Choirs 2 & 3- Lesson 2

Hi Choir 2 and 3 singers and families!
This week your choirs are being taken by Mme Davies and you will be learning a French song that you will perform in just 2 weeks’ time!
The song is called “On écrit sur les murs” and you might have heard it on the bell music.

I have posted the video below. Please be aware that we will be performing only part of the song, and we will be doing it in a different key. This means our starting note (and then the rest of the notes) will be higher. So please practise with the video, but keep this in mind!

It looks like there are a lot of words to remember, but lots of sections are repeated…

Here are the words in spoken form, for you to practise your pronunciation:

Merci tout le monde! Happy singing!

Choir 1- Lesson 2

Hi Choir 1 kids and families!
Today we had our second lesson in Mme P’s J1P room. Our Choir 1 choristers did a great job of remembering their sol-fège (do, mi, so, do) and the hand signs that go with them. Well done!
We practised the two songs we are learning: The Climb and Deux Pieds. We are going to perform these songs at open night and assembly in two weeks time. More details later!
To finish we practised our deep (diphragm) breathing by lying down and placing books on our tummies. We watched the books rise up as we breathed in, and fall back down when we breathed out. This is a great thing to practise at home.

The Climb lyrics:

I can almost see it
That dream I am dreaming
But there’s a voice inside my head saying
“You’ll never reach it”

Every step I’m taking
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking

But I gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my head held high

There’s always gonna be another mountain
I’m always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I’m gonna have to lose
Ain’t about how fast I get there
Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side
It’s the climb

The struggles I’m facing
The chances I’m taking
Sometimes might knock me down
But no, I’m not breaking

I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I’m gonna remember most, yeah
Just gotta keep going

And I, I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on

‘Cause there’s always gonna be another mountain
I’m always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I’m gonna have to lose

Ain’t about how fast I get there
Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side
It’s the climb, yeah!

There’s always gonna be another mountain
I’m always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Somebody’s gonna have to lose

Ain’t about how fast I get there
Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side
It’s the climb, yeah!
It’s the climb!

J’ai deux pieds paroles (lyrics): (STOP at 1:52!)

Happy singing! We’ll see you all soon at open night and assembly!
