Good Old Days With Ms McKenzie singing

Good Old Days

Chorus (Sung)-

I wish somebody would have told me that
Some day, these will be the good old days
All the love you won’t forget
And all these memories you won’t forget
Someday soon, your whole life’s gonna change
You’ll miss the magic of these good old days

Verse (spoken/rap)

I was thinking about my friends
I was thinking about the end
We were in the playground
Singing songs, playing hopscotch and pretend
In a small school in Camberwell
Sun beaming down on my hat

It all happened so fast,
Now look at where we at
Still growing up (oooooh) still growing up (oooooh)
I’d be laying in my bed and dream about what I’d become (oooooh)
Couldn’t wait to get older, (oooooh) couldn’t wait to be someone (oooooh)
Now that I’m here, wishing I was still young
Those good old days

Chorus

Wish I didn’t think I had the answers
Wish I didn’t cheat on my French test
Wish I’d always concentrated in classes
Showed more courage and more zest
Wish I would’ve gotten out of my shell
but I guess only time will tell
Wish I wouldn’t worry bout what other people thought
And felt comfortable in myself

Fun in Art Club (oooooh) Aristocats (oooooh)
Hotshot tennis, battle ball and cricket bats (oooooh)
Sport on the synthie (ooooh), we’d just begun (oooooh)
On the grass, dreaming, figuring out who I was
Those good old days

Chorus

Never thought we’d get old, maybe we’re still young
May we always look back and think it was better than it was
Maybe these are the moments
Maybe I’ve been missing what it’s about
Been scared of the future, thinking about the past
While missing out on now

We’ve come so far, (Ooooooh) I guess I’m proud (Ooooooh)
And I ain’t worried about the wrinkles around my smile (Ooooooh)
I’ve got some scars, (Ooooooh) I’ve been around (Ooooooh)
I’ve thrown some pain, I’ve seen some things, but I’m here now
Those good old days

(Woah whoah)

You don’t know,

(Woah whoah)

what you’ve got
(Woah whoah)

Till it goes,

(Woah whoah)

till it’s gone

(repeat)

I wish somebody would have told me that
Some day, these will be the good old days
All the love you won’t forget
And all these memories you won’t forget
Someday soon, your whole life’s gonna change
You’ll miss the magic of these good old days

Bonjour et bienvenue à Grade 6 Performing Arts!
Click here to go to the page for the Whole School Song and Flash Mob dance we are currently learning.

IN CLASS: In term one in Grade 6 we predominantly studied Dance, with our focus centering on our Zumba performance of “Ma Vie Au Soleil”.  This lead up to the G6 French fête performance, where students presented the skills they had learnt in class. This performance was well-received by the entire community.

In term two the G6 students worked on developing their skills in Drama, through studying a unit on Melodrama. Throughout this unit the students practised and developed their drama skills and techniques, as well as their ability to work in groups, write scripts, and rehearse, present and reflect upon performances.

In semester two we delve deeper into the Performing Arts, and we look further at Dance and Music. We begin term three focusing on our Whole School Song “The Heart of Camberwell”, and our Flash Mob dance, which can both be found on this website: www.thenightingaleproject.edublogs.org. This website is currently under construction, so keep checking for more updates.

Merci 🙂 Ms. McKenzie
