Middle 4 Performing Arts

Bonjour et bienvenue à Grade 4 Performing Arts!

This term’s main focus will be on Mime and we will be performing Mime at the French Fête on March 3rd.

We will have only THREE more sessions to practice our performance, so here are some videos for you to use to help you practice at home.

Our performance will start with 1 minute of mirroring with a partner followed by a sequence of mimes- In a box, picking a flower, pulling a rope and walking a dog.

Here are some videos that will be useful for you to rehearse with at home!

Happy practicing!

Ms. McKenzie and Mrs Nath

here is the music i like to rehearse to!

IN CLASS: In semester one in Grade 4 we predominantly studied Drama, with our term 1 focus centering on French mime. This lead up to the G4 French fête performance, where students presented the skills they had learnt in class. This was an innovative performance, as nothing like this had ever before been presented at a CPS fête. The students looked quite the part in their stripes and berets, and the whole community was impressed with their performance.

In term two the G4 students worked on a unit of “Fractured Fairytales”. Throughout this unit the students practised and developed their drama skills and techniques, as well as their ability to work in groups, write scripts, and rehearse, present and reflect upon performances.

In semester two we delve deeper into the Performing Arts, and we look further at Dance and Music. We begin term three focusing on our Whole School Song “The Heart of Camberwell”, and our Flash Mob dance, which can both be found on this website: www.thenightingaleproject.edublogs.org. This website is currently under construction, so keep checking for more updates.

Merci 🙂 Ms. McKenzie
